| 14 Oct 2009 | David Alexander Patton | Loading...I have a story that i will start posting soon, I’m about done with the pre-writing and organizing it, and I’m already working on the first few sections of it! I should have the first part up around the end of the month! David Alexander Patton replies: "Or not... This is taking much longer than planned... By a lot... I still don’t have the first chapter ready... estimated time of completion is now by January, but is not set in stone for then... I almost completely remade the plotline, and my foolish decision to change everything at the last minute took a severe toll on my time. I apologize for not having much up at this point, but that will change within the next month or two." | |
| 14 Dec 2009 | Reanne Sinclair | Loading...I also like Miyazaki movies, which is your favorite? And the Princess Bride is an excellent movie. Have you ever seen the movie Willow directed by Ron Howard? It’s got a lot of the same tongue and cheek that the Princess Bride does . George Lucas wrote the story. David Alexander Patton replies: "I’d have to say Castle in the Sky or Howls Moving Castle is my favorite... they’re both amazing, so I don’t know which one i like more... ^_^
I was actually planning on watching Willow again soon! I also think that Stardust is a great movie, and it has a similar style to the Princess Bride."
| 15 Dec 2009 | Reanne Sinclair | Loading...Those two are my favorites as well - they’ve got such diverse and interesting characters and the artwork is phenomenal. And they’re also two that I don’t mind watching in either language ... I find watching some dubbed movies hard as the voices they pick for the english characters are SO different from the originals but I didn’t mind with those two.
Willow has so many great quotable lines - I absolutely love the brownies, they’re hilarious! I actually watched it a couple of weeks ago and it never seems to get old, even with the old-style special effects.
I really enjoyed Stardust as well - I loved seeing Robert Deniro in a flamboyant role instead of the typical macho bad guy, very refreshing. David Alexander Patton replies: "I WANT A BROWNIE!!!!! I actually ike some of the old-style special effects better than some of the newer stuff... Modern film relies too heavily on digital effects for everything, whereas older movies focused more on making the story interesting enough for people to sit through it... "
| 22 Dec 2009 | Reanne Sinclair | Loading...Haha, yes, I’m forever quoting the brownies, I actually had a catfish named Raoul after him . There’s just something special about old-school special effects. And yes, Willow definitely had quite the intriguing story
Have you seen the new Avatar yet? The graphics in that are stunning - I love the colors!

Ah, I’m in the exact same boat with my story. I had most of the first chapter written and wasn’t quite happy with the logistics of it and where the storyline was going ... so I stewed about it and finally came up with an almost entirely new plot ... which consequently now needs three books to get it all in there and so the writing has been slowed significantly. David Alexander Patton replies: "Haha!!! Stories just have a mind of their own sometimes... I read your story and it is great!!!!!!!! I can’t wait untill you get the next part up!!! ^_^
And Avatar was AWESOME!!!"
| 24 Dec 2009 | Reanne Sinclair | Loading...Wasn’t it just?! I’ve seen it quite a few times now ... as not all my family could get together at once to go and see it together for our "Christmas family movie" so we’re getting together in smaller groups If I were to ever have a book made into a movie I would hope that the author would choose him to write and direct it. I think he did an absolutely amazing job! And the story, even though it has been told in many different ways by different movies, is so original and fresh with his presentation of it. Thanks! I still have to finish the first chapter, as it went through before I had finished all of the modifications I had mentioned before. I’ve stayed away from it the last couple of days because I didn’t want my experience with watching Avatar to change how I presented characters in the story, which tends to happen if I watch a movie that I really fall in love with. But I’m hoping that today will be the day I’ll get some more writing done on it, finally . Anyway, I hope you have a Merry Christmas! And thanks for taking the time to read LOTPS! | |
| 5 Jan 2010 | Reanne Sinclair | Loading...So I finally finished off chapter 1 of LOTPS - I used the modify button so it didn’t go back into the queue, if you were interested in reading the last bit. Hopefully I’ll have the second chapter ready to post within the next couple of days. | |
